Big news!
Canada Colour finally taking part in our first in-person event: the 2025 Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival in Vancouver!
It’s a milestone for us. More than 150,000 people are expected to gather at False Creek for a weekend of racing, community, and celebration. As a small, independent studio that reimagines Canadian symbols through modern design, the chance to be part of such an iconic cultural moment is something we don’t take lightly.
We’ll be participating through the Got Craft Market. It's Vancouver’s longest-running indie craft fair and their team led by Andrea and Rob have been incredibly generous with their advice and support. As first-timers, we’ve had a lot to learn: from sourcing display walls to printing signage, ordering products, and navigating event logistics from across the country.
Because yes, I’m currently based in Montreal. And in some ways, this trip back to Vancouver is personal.
I haven’t lived in BC full-time since 2017, when I left for Japan. Coming back this June to exhibit Canada Colour at home is meaningful in ways that go beyond business. This is the first time I’ll get to talk about our products with people in person, to have conversations and see real-time reactions. For me, it’s about connection—and reconnection.
There’s also a cultural layer that makes this especially special. The Dragon Boat Festival has always held special meaning given my heritage. While Canada Colour isn’t about any one culture, it is about place. And this festival, which brings together so many of Vancouver’s communities, feels like the right setting for our first public appearance.
We’ve got a lot planned, including some special smaller-format prints exclusive to this event. If you’ve ever considered grabbing a piece but weren’t sure about size or framing, this is a great chance to see them in person.
If you’re in Vancouver June 21–22, we hope you’ll stop by the Canada Colour booth at the Got Craft? Pavilion at Concord Pacific Place. Whether you’re a fan of minimalist design, curious about Canadian symbols, or just want to say hello, we’d love to meet you.
This has been a labour of love, one that blends design, storytelling, and a deep sense of place. And while we’re still figuring things out—what to bring, how much to bring, how to display everything—the support we’ve received so far has been incredible.
Thanks for following the journey. We can’t wait to see you there.
